Where junk goes after we haul it in Toronto and the GTA: donate, recycle, and responsible disposal explained simply.
One of the first questions people ask after how much is where this stuff actually goes. Fair question. Nobody wants their old couch dumped illegally. Here is the simple version of what happens after Junk 'Of' Urs loads your items.
When it makes sense, usable furniture and household goods are directed toward donation or reuse channels. Metals, certain electronics, and recyclable materials are separated from landfill waste where facilities allow. Not every item can be donated (broken particle board, stained mattresses, water-damaged furniture), but we do not treat every load as all trash.
What cannot be reused or recycled is taken to licensed transfer stations and disposal facilities that serve the GTA. That is part of why junk removal costs what it does. Disposal fees are real, and illegal dumping is not an option.
We generally do not take wet paint, fuels, chemicals, asbestos, biomedical waste, or propane tanks. Those need specialty drop-off programs. If you are unsure, ask before booking and we will tell you honestly.
Truck-volume pricing includes labour and disposal. When you send clear photos, we can estimate space and weight better, confirm a price before we load, and avoid surprises on site. Landlords and property managers can ask for an invoice when they book.
