Question

Is junk removal expensive in Toronto?

A fair household price in Toronto is the published share of the truck, and HST is already inside the number. One item is $99, which is also the minimum. An eighth of a truck is $179. A quarter is $299. Half a truck is $469. Three quarters of a truck is $629. A full truck is $739. Each extra full truck on that same visit is $650. That figure is the price for the load. It is not an opening bid.

The service feels expensive when it is lined up with a municipal curb program that accepts a few bulky pieces, or with a container you fill yourself. Those are different jobs. A rented container still needs a place to sit, and someone at the house still does the carrying. The crew figure covers the carry from the room or the garage, the loading, and disposal, and the truck leaves with the items on that visit. Minutes on site are not the bill. A longer walk from the curb does not start a clock. It changes the price only when the photos put the pile in a larger share of the truck.

The email you accept is the figure for the load in the photos. If the day shows a smaller pile, the charge drops to that smaller tier. A piece that was never in the photos is pointed out before it goes on the truck. Junk 'Of' Urs is locally owned across the GTA, so a franchise fee is not stacked on the tier. Whitby and Oshawa are the flat-card exception: the drive is part of the visit, and those two are priced from the photos instead of being read off the tiers above.

Houses in Toronto, towers in North York, driveways in Scarborough, stairs in East York, and condos in Etobicoke sit on that same card. Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Pickering, and Ajax do too. Send the photos, then read the email before you book. One mattress, a garage, or an estate clear uses this card as well, which is why those have their own short answers instead of a second price sheet.

Common questions

Why is junk removal so expensive?

You are paying for a crew, a truck, and disposal, not for a voucher to a dump. Carrying a sectional down a stair and taking it to a facility costs more than setting one chair at the curb. The published tiers are the whole household price, with HST included. A total that feels high is usually a pile that fills more of the truck than the biggest piece suggested.

What is the average junk removal price in Toronto?

There is no separate average on the card. A small pile is the $179 or $299 tier. About half the truck is $469. A full truck is $739, and another full truck on that visit is $650. The photos pick the tier before anything is loaded.

Is a lower junk removal quote a fairer price?

Only when that lower number is the full price. An opening figure that grows with fees at the door is not the cheaper job. Compare a published tier that already includes HST, then accept a number that was set from your photos.
